Speak to Charlie the zookeeper in the Ardougne zoo, in the South West part. He will explain how a Northern ferret managed to escape and how he sent one of his associates, a huntsman named Nickolaus, to capture another Northern ferret for the zoo.
Unfortunately, he has not been heard from since. Charlie will ask you to go to Eagles' Peak.
-
Head over to Eagles' Peak. It is located to the West of the Tree Gnome Stronghold, North West of your present location in the Ardougne Zoo.
You can use the Eagles' Peak lodestone if you have it activated.
From the lodestone, run in North West direction around the mountain's base, then slightly South until you see a campsite.
Note: if you came running from Ardougne, don't forget to activate the lodestone.
Inspect the books there to find a Bird book. Read it to obtain a Metal feather.
-
Now go to the top of Eagles' Peak, by climbing up the rocks (requires 25 Agility). If you haven't got the required Agility level, use the Eagles' Peak lodestone and run West up the mountain.
Inspect the rocky outcrop at the top and then use the Metal feather on it to open up a secret passageway.
-
Enter the cave and head East past the feathered journal, then at the split in the path walk South. A cut-scene with Nickolaus will then occur.
Nickolaus will ask you to make an Eagle disguise to help him escape the eagles' nest.
-
Pick up 10 Eagle feathers by clicking 'Take Giant feathers' on the feathers on the ground, then go to East Varrock (with the Varrock lodestone or magic teleport) to speak with the Fancy-dress shop owner.
-
Ask him about bird costumes and he will offer to make the costume for you, if you provide him with: 10 Eagle feathers, 1 Yellow dye, 1 Swamp tar, and 50 gold coins. Talk to him again and give him the supplies.
He will give you 2 Eagle capes and 2 Fake beaks.
-
Return to Nickolaus and 'Shout-to' him, he will tell you to come to him. Walk around to the South side of the cave and attempt to open the stone door.
The door will be locked, and you will need a Bronze feather, Silver feather, and Golden feather to open it and enter the nest.
-
From the stone door, run West and enter the entrance. Attempt to take the feather from the Pedestal, this will trigger a trap causing the feather to be out of reach.
To lower it again, operate the four winches in the corners of the room. Once finished, take the Bronze feather and leave the room.
-
Run to the first entrance slightly to the North, on the West side of the cave. Inside, inspect the Stone pedestal to make footprints appear.
Inspect the rocks to the East and then the rocks directly North East to find more footprints. Here you will see an opening, inspect it and a level 20 Kebbit will run out and attack you.
Kill it to obtain the Silver feather, then return to the previous room.
-
Run to the North East corner of the cave and enter the entrance. Grab 6 Odd bird seeds from the Birdseed holder.
-
In order to get to the gold feather, you will need to complete a puzzle. Below is a map to help you out with the next steps; the step numbers correspond with the map numbers.
Note: if you make a mistake during the steps below, you can reset the puzzle by exiting the room and pulling the reset lever outside the current cave. If you log out during the steps you only need to re-enter the cave and continue from where you left off.

After obtaining all three feathers, head back to the stone door and insert them in it, one by one. You will now be able to go through the stone door whenever you want.
-
Make sure you are wearing your Fake beak and Eagle cape, or the eagle will attack you when you attempt to get past him, then click on the eagle and select walk past to get past the giant eagle. Now speak to Nickolaus, and agree to meet him outside at the campsite.
-
Make your way to the campsite and speak to Nickolaus (run back, or use the lodestone). Tell him you were sent to get the ferret.
A cutscene will ensue showing you how to catch a ferret, after the cutscene you will have the ferret in your inventory.
-
Finally, return to Charlie at the Ardougne Zoo with your newly captured ferret.
Congratulations! Quest Complete!
Eagle Transportation System
You can now use the Eagle transportation system. The main hub is inside the cave where you rescued Nickolaus. The others are located near Hunting grounds and are also in a cave (except the Shilo Village location), thus you'll not see the transportation symbol on the main world map for these.
You must have a rope (which spawns at the Trollweiss and Uzer landing areas); use it on an Eagle to transport to the corresponding location. The Feldip, Eagles' Peak and Karamja locations have a ruined rope rack which can be repaired with 3 Teak planks and 5 ropes, to hold ropes for you.
Note: for the Karamjan Jungle eagle you must also have completed the Back to My Roots quest. Additionally, to travel from the Feldip Hunter area back to Eagles' Peak, you'll need to grow the vines outside the cave to be able to get back in. For this you can use a: Teasing stick, Garden cane, Thatch spar light, Thatch spar med, or Thatch spar dense on the vine. After roughly an hour the vine will have grown strong enough to allow you to climb it, a message will appear in your chatbox when this has occured.
