There are different ways to arrive at Herblore Habitat. The most effective way is to travel to Taverley and purchase juju teleport spiritbags from Bettamax.
Another option is to use the gnome glider to travel to east Karamja and then walk to Herblore Habitat, which involves passing through the Jadinko Lair.
To begin and understand what is going on speak to Papa Mambo and he will give you some starting vine flower seeds.
Herblore Habitat is split up into four areas. In each area there are different things to do. They are as follows:
Area 1 (North)
When using the Juju teleport spiritbag you will arrive in this area. Papa Mambo is located here. When you attract jadinkos by having the correct combinations they will be released into this area where you will have the ability to catch them (in this area it is limited to Common, Amphibious, and Draconic jadinko.) There is a cauldron that can be used as a water supply for vials and Buckets.
Area 2 (Middle)
This is the Farming area. There are 5 different patches where you have the ability to plant fruit trees, vines, bushes, and herbs. In the middle there is an environment feature that is used to build structures. This is where you plant different plants and find specific combinations to attract jadinkos to the area.
Area 3 (South)
This area is a tracking and Marasamaw plant area for the following jadinkos: Carrion and Cannibal.
Area 4 (East)
This is the area that Saradomin, Guthix, and Zamorak jadinkos will be attracted into once you have found the correct combination for the week. There is also a extra herb patch located here.
Papa Mambo is not only the keeper of Herblore Habitat, but he also sells items that are very useful when training in the habitat. Below is the wares of his store:
Farming in Herblore Habitat is the same as it would be in any other area of RuneScape. Speak with Astlayrix to understand what is going on and you will then be able to see a list of correct combinations that Astlayrix will keep for you just in case you forget. However, she will only keep track of the combinations for attracting jadinkos that you already have successfully attracted yourself.
There are only four types of seeds that you can plant in Herblore Habitat: vine flower seeds, vine bush seeds, herbs (specific to Herblore Habitat), and fruit trees.

Construction may not be trained in Herblore Habitat, but it will certainly save you a lot of money if you have a high Construction level.
Many jadinkos have a special environmental feature that helps attract them. You do not gain any construction experience by building environmental features. You also do not need a hammer or a saw to build the features either. If you do not have a high enough Construction level, then speak to Papa Mambo and he will construct the feature for you but for a hefty price. Below is a list of features and what their cost would normally be if you do not have a high enough Construction level.
Environmental Feature | Picture | Construction to build | Papa Mambo's cost |
Empty | N/A | N/A | |
Boneyard | 56 | 56,000 Coins

Upon first entering Herblore Habitat there will be no jadinkos in the area. This is because you will need to find different combinations of environmental features, vine bushes, vine flowers, fruit trees, and possibly even the mixture of a Juju hunter potion (3) to attract jadinkos to the area.
You will find the need for some basic Hunter equipment to track or trap jadinkos. Luckily Papa Mambo sells it all. Below is list:
Item | Picture | Use | Papa Mambo's cost |
Marasamaw plant | Used to capture jadinkos as a Box trap would | 38 Coins
Noose wand | Used to catch jadinkos when tracking | 4 Coins |
Using a Marasamaw plant is no different than using a Box trap to trap jadinkos. Below is a table and the specific combinations needed to trap each type of jadinko. Note: Dead trees will still work towards attracting jadinkos.

Each week a player has the potential to earn rewards from Papa Mambo. The player must catch at least one of each basic jadinko (Amphibious jadinko, Aquatic jadinko, Camouflaged jadinko, Cannibal jadinko, Carrion jadinko, Diseased jadinko, Draconic jadinko, Igneous jadinko, and Shadow jadinko) to be eligible for any rewards. The first two rewards are always the Witchdoctor legs and Witchdoctor robes. Once both are owned by the player, the player must catch at least one of each god jadinko (Guthix jadinko, Saradomin jadinko, and Zamorak jadinko) to obtain the final reward: the Witchdoctor mask.
It is worth noting that players can hunt the Marasamaw plant jadinkos on Anachronia to be eligible for rewards, thereby avoiding the hassle of first having the proper setup for the jadinkos to spawn in the habitat. However, despite the tracking jadinkos (Camouflaged jadinko, Diseased jadinko, and Shadow jadinko) being on the island, they do not qualify a player for rewards and as such they must be caught within the Habitat.
Item | Picture | Requirement to Wear | Effects |
Witchdoctor legs | 70 Hunter | Functions as camouflage in the habitat and provides a 1% experience boost to Farming, Hunter, and Herblore for 30 minutes in the habitat
Witchdoctor robes | 70 Hunter | Functions as camouflage in the habitat and provides a 2% experience boost to Farming, Hunter, and Herblore for 30 minutes in the habitat
Witchdoctor mask | 70 Hunter | Functions as camouflage in the habitat, provides a 2% experience boost to Farming, Hunter, and Herblore for 30 minutes in the habitat, and provides unlimited teleports to Herblore Habitat |
In addition to these three items Papa Mambo will reward the player with two separate chunks of experience in either Farming, Herblore, or Hunter (player's choice). The first chunk of experience is awarded for catching one of each basic jadinko that week. The second is awarded for catching one of each basic and god jadinko that week. The experience gained is based on the player's level in the skill and is described with the equation Y = (Z x (Z - 4)) + 200, where Y is the experience gained and Z is the player's level in the chosen skill. In other words, to determine the amount amount of experience you will receive in the given skill, take your skill level and subtract 4. After that, multiply it by your skill level and add 200. The result is the amount of experience you would gain.
When Papa Mambo provides your rewards for the week, it activates a 30 minute boost to your Farming, Herblore, and Hunter experience gained while in the Herblore Habitat. The experience boost is based on what pieces of the witchdoctor outfit you are wearing (see the above table for reference).
