For many years, he was first encountered as the Combat Instructor on Tutorial Island and would teach new players how Melee and Ranged combat worked. That is until the island was replaced with a new tutorial in 2008.
Vannaka a Slayer Master found within the Edgeville Dungeon. At least 40 Combat is required to obtain a Slayer task from him.
Upon completion of the Elite Varrock Task Set, you can talk to him to obtain Varrock armour 4.
During Beneath Cursed Tides, you will help him search for survivors of the now sunken Tutorial Island.
The percents listed in the table are the base values. Blocking a creature will remove it and thus increase the odds for all other creatures. Preferring a creature task will double the chance for that creature.

Vannaka requests that you bring him a perfect dragon scale from each of the chromatic dragons (Green, Blue, Red, and Black). Note that both adult and baby dragons drop the scales and it may take several kills to obtain one. Once you have all four, return to Vannaka.
Reward: 4,000 Slayer experience and 10 Slayer Points.
