Major Deities
God of Order
Saradomin is one of the earliest gods. His appearance is that of a mortal, leading his followers to believe they have much in common when, according to Guthix, they have very little. Many Saradominist views seem to conflict each other, such as Saradominists preachings of nonviolence and Saradominist beliefs that Zamorakians need to be exiled or killed. He claims to have created Gielinor (RuneScape), which of course, is a lie.

Guthix was the first to discover the "blank plane" now known as RuneScape, (or as he called it, Gielinor). He took this blank slate and created the land, the sea, and the creatures. After shaping the world as he pleased, Guthix descended into a deep underground cave and began a deep sleep. He would not awake again until the noise from the god wars penetrated the silence and woke him. Guthix ordered the fighting to stop, and for the gods to stop interfering directly with mortal affairs. After the fighting subsided, Guthix went underground and began to cry. He remains crying to this day as nature weeps with him. Also notable is Guthix's lack of gender, and the fact that Guthix is often mistake as the God of Nature, however, it is truly the God of Balance.

God of Chaos
Zamorak was once a Mahjarrat general serving Zaros. With aid from his earliest followers, he overthrew Zaros and ascended into godhood. For killing Zaros, Zamorak was banished, but came back and began the god wars as an act of revenge on Saradomin. Zamorakian beliefs include, but are not limited to the following: Only the strong are worthy of life, anything can be proven by destroying all who oppose, and power is most important in life.

Little is known of Armadyl, however, his staff was used to defeat Zaros implying that he is a being of immense power. There has been evidence found, however, that Armadyl and Zaros were equals. According to Saradomin, Armadyl is still alive and well.

Zaros
Unknown alignment

In the second age, Zaros (also known as "The Empty Lord") was the most powerful god. During that time his followers had a magnificent and highly magical empire in northeast Geilinor. He wanted supreme control over RuneScape and thus was in somewhat of a cold war with the other gods. Zaros could've easily defeated any other god one-on-one, however, the combined effort of the other gods would've been enough to destroy him so no open move was made. Ironically enough, Zaros was defeated by one of his Mahjarrat followers, Zamorak, using the staff of Armadyl. However, he was not killed - merely banished. There has been evidence found that Armadyl and Zaros were equals. He is believed to still be alive and have some plans for the Kalphite Queen, as she can use protection prayers and therefore must be protected by some evil god. Zaros is also rumored to have created the goblin race.

The Elven Goddess
Currently no image available.
The earliest records of Seren date back to the Third Age. She is said to be made of the same material that elven crystal is made of. While the other gods were warring, Seren was isolated in the western forests of RuneScape. Seren led the eight elven clans through the "World Gate" and into modern Tirannwn. From there, Seren told the elves that to survive, the clans must band together and instructed them on how they should build the city of Prifddinas. All other documents containing this mysterious goddess are lost.

Elidnis is not worshiped by many and those who do are mainly from the desert. The center of her worship is the town of Nardah. In Nardah, there is a shrine to Elidinis, provided by the god herself to Nardarine, a refugee of the God Wars in the third age and the first ruler of Nardah and the creator of the city, with help from the goddess of course. She is one of the minor Gods that make up the Menaphite Pantheon and is the wife of their leader Tumeken. You will assist her followers in the quest "Spirits of the Elid."

Son of Zamorak
Iban was once a powerful Black Knight, he was educated and had great ambition. Iban desired power, power over men, power that surpassed loyalty and allegiance. Iban's dreams and life were cut short by a now famous White Knight: Dawn Ascent. Even in death, Iban's ambition could not be stifled. A powerful witch by the name of Kardia recreated Iban from the very essence of humanity. Thus Iban was reborn and took the title of "Son of Zamorak" even if only in name. Iban became the guardian of the Underground Pass, protecting it from Lathas and not allowing communication between the King of Ardougne and the Ioworth Clan. Iban was able to protect the Underground Pass until a foolish mortal, with no idea of the consequences, slew him once more during 'The Underground Pass' quest.

Mighty Mahjarrat Warlord
Hazeel overthrew the developing city of Ardougne early in the fourth age. The anscestors of the Carnillean family slew the warlord, and took his mansion and property as their own. Anticipating death, Hazeel created a scroll with the power to resurrect himself and stashed it away inside his mansion. In the 'Hazeel Cult' quest, you can either help resurrect or postpone the resurrection of Hazeel. Now reborn (even if it wasn't because of your help), Hazeel is traveling northward* to meet his fellow Mahjarrat and plan for the second god war. Hazeel slew many of Zaros's guards during Zamorak's battle with the Empty Lord.

Mahjarrat Master of Magic
Of Zamorak's followers (at that time), Lucien was the only not to join in that attack of Zaros's castle. His alliances and loyalties are questionable, but it seems likely that he is loyal to Zamorak. Lucien once led an unsuccessful attack on Varrock using Zombies as his main soldiers (which could explain their vast numbers in Varrock Sewers). He wants the Staff of Armadyl for reasons unknown (Theories point to either wanting godhood in the same manor Zamorak attained it, or Protecting Zamorak from the same fate Zaros suffered). He is a master mage, but is quite weak physically. You can either help him attain the Staff of Armadyl or slay him in the 'Temple of Ikov' quest.

Fated Foe of Arrav
Currently no image available.
Zemouregal is said to have garbed himself in all black and to have had pale skin. He is a Mahjarrat who visits Arrav in a dream. He swears that he will enslave Arrav and force him to destroy his beloved town of Avarrocka (modern Varrock). Though the texts are limited about this Mahjarrat, it is safe to say Arrav defeated (and possibly killed) Zemouregal, making him famous and saving Avarrocka from certain destruction. Zemouregal aided Zamorak in defeating Zaros by fighting the guards.

Enakhra is the only known female Mahjarrat. Long ago (presumably in the third age though we can't be sure), she built a temple for Zamorak in the desert as a trap for the Zarosian Mahjarrat, Akthanakos, in order to imprison him. She was a mage (similar to Lucien), and is the only Zamorakian Mahjarrat to ever use Ancient Magic. She has the ability to animate bones (into Skeletons or Boneguards), and used this power to bind Akthanakos to her temple. Her reason for binding Akthanakos is unknown, but after he was freed, they both "went north."* Despite their rivalry and the fact that they served opposing gods, they seem to at least be on civil terms with each other.

Long ago, Akthanakos was tricked and sealed by Enakhra to her temple. He was later freed and "traveled north"* to join the other Mahjarrat. Despite the obvious rivalry between him and Enakhra, and the fact that they served opposing gods, they appear to be on civil terms with each other.

Champion of the Desert Dwellers

Azzandra was the only Mahjarrat to remain loyal to Zaros. Even after Zaros's defeat, Azzandra remained loyal and led his remaining followers against Zamorak and Saradomin during the God Wars. In the end, Azzandra was imprisioned in a pyramid by Zamorakian forces. Stories of the desert champion were passed down the lines of desert folk who still worship Zaros. In search of treasure and power, you can free the desert champion in the 'Desert Treasure' quest.

Drakan is the dreaded ruler of Morytania. In return for protection, he demands his subjects to pay him an amount of blood monthly. He hates humans and would kill any to cross him on sight. The death of his brother, Count Draynor, at human hands only strengthens his hatred. The only human he ever let serve him was a man named Charos. An amazing diplomat, Charos could easily manipulate the weak minded, but met his demise after attempting to use his power on his master. Drakan was present when Zaros was slain and assisted Zamorak by fending off Zaros's guards.

Demonic Destroyer of Uzer
Thammaron was a great elder-demon who loyally served Zamorak. He fended off Zaros's guards in the battle between Zaros and Zamorak and destroyed Uzer in during the God Wars. Thammaron was trapped in his demonic realm by an army of clay golems and died there, from the wounds the golems had inflicted. Learn more in the 'The Golem' quest.

The term "go north" has been mentioned by several Mahjarrat. First Hazeel said he must go north to join Zamorak after being revived. Later, Enakhra said she would be waiting for Akthanakos in the north, to which he replied it would be a pleasure to fight her once more. Though the exact meaning of "go north" is unknown, it could possibly mean a second God War will begin in the north (possibly the Wilderness, the site of the first God War). Another posibility is the path to Freneskae, another realm and the origional home of the Mahjarrat.
Despite rumours to the contrary, the Council (aka Jagex) has confirmed that the Oracle is NOT a god, but rather, a human
