Head to the northern part of Draynor village and speak to Ozan, standing outside of one of the houses. He will ask you to infiltrate a gang that his friend Khnum has joined. Agree to help him out.
Note: The easiest way to reach Draynor Village is by using the Draynor Village lodestone or the Amulet of glory (4) teleport option.
-
Try to open the trapdoor in the house next to Ozan and tell the Bouncer you will poke his eyes if he does not let you in. He will now let you into the cellar. Speak to Khnum and he will ask you some initiation questions. Any answer will be correct. After passing the test, ask him if he has any available jobs and he will tell you that finding the location of the gang's headquarters is the next test.
Note: There are no incorrect answers to the questions, but your answer will determine which title you are awarded at the end of the quest.
-
Report back to Ozan and he will ask you to follow Khnum when he leaves his cellar. Tell Ozan that you are ready to trail and Khnum will walk out of the house. Now, simply follow him, making sure you stay a short distance behind. If you get too close, just back away a little. Eventually, you will arrive at the Draynor village jail and Ozan will ask if you are ready to confront Khnum. Answer with yes and a cut scene will occur in which Ozan questions Khnum about why he joined the gang. During the conversation, Leela will appear and tell you that Prince Ali has been kidnapped by Lady Keli.
-
Find out the details of the kidnapping by interrogating Khnum and going through each of the options. When he has told you all that he knows, head to the shoreline south of the prison and a cut scene will occur in which Lady Keli and her mercenaries take Prince Ali away in a boat. Once the cut scene has finished, kill the mercenaries and pick up the dropped Ransom note. Now, talk to either Ozan or Leela and Leela will ask you to take the note to her father Osman in Al Kharid and gives you a passphrase to tell him.
Note: The passphrase differs from player to player.
-
Travel to Al Kharid and try to open the closed door in the palace courtyard. The guard will stop you and Ozan will try to explain to him about the prince being kidnapped, but the guard will refuse to believe him. Speak to Ozan and he will tell you that he has a plan to break into the palace, starting with climbing to the roof of the crafting store in the northeast part of the city.
Note: The easiest way to reach Al Kharid is by using the Al Kharid lodestone, the Amulet of glory (4) teleport option, or the Ring of duelling (8) teleport otion.
-
Head to the crafting store, in the NorthEastern corner of Al Kharid and climb the stairs and ladder to the roof. Now, you must now make your way across the rooftops by passing a series of obstacles. If you get stuck, talk to Ozan and he will explain where to go.
- Step across the plank and slide down the awning.
- Walk through the building and across the washing line.
- Climb up the ladder and cross the planks.
- Go up another ladder and jump down the scaffold.
- Climb down the rug and swing across the wooden frame.
- Jump onto the next building and bounce across the awning to the bank.
- Climb up the brickwork and click on the flagpole to have Ozan fire a grapple at the palace, then cross the rope.
- Attempt to climb up the final brickwork.
-
Once at the palace a cut scene will play in which Osman tries to tell the Emir that the Menaphites have kidnapped Prince Ali and want a diamond known as the Kharid-ib as ransom. However, the Emir refuses to accept the demands and Ozan will suggest that you and him should steal it. When the cut scene has ended, climb the brickwork to the roof and break into the vault through the skylight.
-
Talk to Ozan and he will explain that the diamond is encased in a display which can only be opened with a Weight obtained from the Het scales. Open the Ornate chests to find the History of the Kharid-ib which hints at how to find the correct Weight with the scales.
-
Inspect the Het scales in the center of the room to find 9 weights, of which 8 are equal in weight and the other is heavier than the rest. Through a process of elimination, you need to obtain the odd weight using the nearby Het scales.
- Place 3 weights on each hand and weigh them.
- If one side is heavier then the other, then you can conclude that one of the 3 on that side is the heavy one.
- If both sides weigh exactly the same, then you know that the heavy weight is amongst the 3 that you did not weight yet.
-
Take 2 of the heavier weights and place one each side of the scale. Weigh the two weights.
- If one side is heavier than the other, then you will have found the correct weight.
- If they are balanced, then the heavy weight is the one you did not weigh yet.
When you have found the heavy weight, drag it to the bag to put it in your inventory. Place the weight on the display of the Kharid-ib, behind the scales, to unlock it.
- Place 3 weights on each hand and weigh them.
-
Once you have opened the display, Osman and the palace guards will enter the vault. You will tell him about what happened in Draynor and why you are stealing the diamond. Before he will believe you, he asks for Leela's passphrase, tell him and he will take you to the Emir. Choose either option and during the conversation the Emir will have a heart attack and die. When the cut scene has ended, Osman will give you your reward
