Start Point:
Harvest Hollow
To Start:
Talk to one of the Horsemen (Death, Pestilence, Famine, War, Frank).
Instructions:
  1. Head to Harvest Hollow where the 5 faction leaders are gathered around. Talk to any of them as they argue about which of them does the most. You will ask if there is anything you can do to help. Frank will admit that while you can't likely assist with the disagreement, you could help with their Halloween plans. Accept the quest and the Horsemen will tell you that Gielinor needs some spookification. Before you can get started though, you will need to choose a faction to join: Death, Pestilence, Famine, War, or Frank.

Note that the faction you choose will affect your quest rewards. If you need more information on their weekly competition, you can talk to Coughs to the West.

    We Begin

  2. Once you have decided, speak to the clan leader of your chosen faction. They will want you to wear suitably spooky attire in at least 4 outfit slots to proceed. Note that both physical items AND overrides will work, however, you can only use one or the other per slot. Speak to your faction leader to have them check your attire. Once they have confirmed you are properly geared, they will send you to meet a Clan representative.

    Look At Me Now

  3. Head to Gertrude's house, just South of the Cooks' Guild, and talk to the Clan representative to learn your first task: trick-or-treat Gertrude.

    Mk1

  4. Head inside and talk to Gertrude for immediate success and treats that you will gobble up. Then return to the Clan rep who will ask you to meet them at the next location.

    pHaze 1

  5. Head to Falador Castle and climb up the Eastern ladder to find the Clan representative just outside Sir Renitee's room. They will ask you to trick-or-treat Ambassador Spanfipple.

    Old Gnome

  6. Step in the room and speak with the Ambassador. This will fail horribly, but you will hear some chatter about talking armor that might be helpful.

    Attempt

  7. Head to the Western end of the castle to find an armor set near the stairs that occasionally says "Teehee". In addition to giggling, if you hover over the armor, the text will show a pumpkin icon at the end and you will be able to "Investigate" instead of "Search" it. Investigate the armor and it will make a run for it. A chase is foot!

    Armor

  8. Head up stairs and out the Northern door and run to the Eastern end of the castle. Here you will find a second set of talking armor to investigate. Do so and it will of course run away again.

    Almost

  9. Head to the ladders North of you and climb down twice to find a final set of talking armor just outside of the jail room. Here you will succeed in stopping Lucy the trickster imp who has been playing in the armor. She will agree to help you trick-or-treat the Ambassador depending on your selection.

    got it

  10. Head back upstairs and talk to the Ambassador Spanfipple - if you chose to trick him: the nearby armor will talk and frighten him. If you choose to treat him: you will introduce him to Lucy the trickster imp. Either way, your mission will be a success. Step out of the room and speak to the Clan rep who will ask you to meet them in the next location.

    pHaze 2

  11. Head to Lumbridge Castle and go upstairs. You will find the Clan rep just outside the Duke's room who is your final mark.

    Last Stop

  12. Step into the room and talk to the Duke you will find he is too flustered about his dreams to trick-or-treat right now. He will make note that he still needs to write down his most recent dream, but can't remember where he set his dream journal. Now is your chance!

    Weirdo

  13. The journal is on the table just South of him. Walk over and read it to discover that he is dreaming that his cook is colluding with evil forces to make a draconic cake-golem! We definitely won't want that to happen....

    Such Dreams

  14. Go downstairs and talk to the Cook. They will agree to make you a dragon cake, but need a draconic reference before they can do so.

    The Request

  15. Head to the Exam Centre (quickly reached with an Archaeology journal) and talk to any Examiner to take a pop quiz on dragons. After 3 correct answers in a row, they will give you an old dragon's head. Questions include the following:
    • How many legs does a dragon have? 4
    • What are the 3 classes of dragon? Chromatic, Ferrous, and Gemstone
    • Which of these will not protect you from dragon fire? Dragonstones
    • Which of these is the weakest type of dragon? Black
    • True or False Bronze, Silver and Mithril are all types of ferrous dragon? False
    Pop Quiz

  16. Return to the Cook and give them the dragon head. They will take a few minutes to create the Dragon cake before giving it to you.

    Make It

  17. With the cake in hand, return to Duke Horacio to spook (Talk to) him. With the mission complete, talk to the Clan rep one last time before heading back to Harvest Hollow.

    pHaze 3

  18. At Harvest Hollow, talk to your faction leader to receive one last challenge to finally join the clan - beat the Maize Maze!

    Back At Start

  19. Head North East of them and complete the Maze. Once done, return to your faction leader and tell them of your victory.

    About the Maze:
    • Suggested to complete on a low population world as the map is not instanced so you will be competing for resources.
    • Catch Zombie implings for receive Bone clubs (Melee weapon) and Ghost implings for Moonstone chips (combined with Bone club to make Moonstone bone darts - Ranged weapon). Both weapons are single use causing 10 damage to your target.
    • Spooking (attacking with weapon) a Skeleton or Zombie will cause it to disappear.
    • Both implings and Skeletons/Zombie will respawn after catching/defeating.
    • Keep an eye out for shortcuts which may appear, these will need to be jumped over.
    • You enter with 100 "health". Getting attacked by a Skeleton or Zombie will cause 10 damage and getting hit by the boss will cause 20 damage. Should you loose all "Health", it will completely refill and you will lose half of the items in your inventory (starting from the bottom).
    • Boss has 100 health and will need to be spooked 10 times for you to succeed. Using Bone clubs requires you to jump into the area with the boss to hit them. Moonstone bone darts, however, can be used from the outside of the fenced area.

Remember that both physical items AND overrides will work, however, you can only use one or the other per slot.

Presuming you don't have adequate overrides and need to purchase items, the easiest one to go for is the Zombie outfit (boots, gloves, trousers, shirt, and mask). These pieces can be purchased from Iffie for a few thousand Coins.
