This device works a little like a sextant, giving your current coordinates in the area of Kethsi. It's coordinates are always 4 letters.
During the quest these need to be matched to the display you get once you place the tetrahedrons in their holes. If the tetrahedrons say 1=E, 2=G, 3=F and 4=C then you need to locate and dig at coordinates EGFC to find the Kethsian key.
