Melzar is the last surviving inhabitant of Crandor which was once an important port community until it was destroyed by Elvarg.
He is encountered during Dragon Slayer when you must kill him to obtain a Magenta key in order to continue through his maze and find the chest containing his Map part.
During the fight he will punch or kick you dealing a small amount of damage, use Fire strike and stat-draining spells such as Confuse, and occasionally cast a spell which spawns several Cabbages in the room.
