Must be able to defeat a level 81 opponent who attacks in a variety of ways, and survive in a multi-way combat area with foes of level 63 and 70. Must be on regular spell book.
-
Talk to Manni the Reveller. He will tell you that he is arranging a surprise party for Brundt the Chieftain and wants you to invite Mawnis Burowgar of Neitiznot and King Vargas of Miscellania.
-
Go north to the pier and travel to Neitiznot with Maria Gunnars.
-
Talk to Mawnis Burowgar at the Tannery south of the bank. He will not go to the party as he is angry with Brundt and will tell you that here is no point speaking to King Vargas.
-
Go back to Manni the Reveller who reckons there is no point in keeping the party secret any more. He will ask you to go talk to Brundt the Chieftain. Speak to Brundt the Chieftain, nearby in the same long-hall, and he will tell you that when he was young he went on a quest for a tablet with Mawnis, Vargas and others. The quest ended badly and Brundt still wants to know who has the tablet. Brundt will give you a piece of paper with directions to the cave.
-
Go north to the pier and travel to Miscellania with the Sailor. Once there, Head west and speak with King Vargas, next to Advisor Ghrim on the second floor of his castle. He will tell you his part of the story and give you the next part of the directions.
-
Return to Neitiznot and talk to Mawnis again. He will tell you his part of the story and give you the last part of the directions. It is a good time to bank now in Neitiznot. You will need Armor, Weapon, Food, Prayer potions, a Pickaxe, a one click teleport, and 5 spare spaces in your backpack.
Note: The easiest way is via the Enchanted lyre to Rellekka and boat to Neitiznot.
-
Go to the ice hunting area northeast of Relleka and head all the way north up the steps to the tracking area, past the Hunting expert.
-
On the northwestern coast, you will find some footprints you can inspect that will reveal tracks leading east along the coast.
-
Keep inspecting the tracks and following them till they eventually end up at an ice mound. Inspect the tracks in front of the ice mound, then examine and dig the mound. The entrance to the cave will then be revealed.
-
Enter the lair of Kang Admi and quickly go south into the next cave. There, a level 81 yeti, Nial Swiftfling, will attack you with all three combat styles and even knock you back. Food is a necessity, as his attack styles are not distinctive enough to change prayer as he attacks. Kill him and collect all the items he drops: Big bones, Herb pouch, Unfinished astral rune, Nial's throwing axe and Yeti hair.
Note: There are many Yetis and Gnoeals (levels 63 and 70) inside the cave. They use both ranged and magic attacks. If you are a low-leveled player, you are advised to bring Prayer potions and use protect from range, or wear Ranged armor and bring food. Do not forget to turn off auto-retaliate to get through the cave. Once you have reached the level 81 Yeti, turn on auto-retaliate.
-
Once you have got the items, leave the cave and head to Jatizso to speak to Mawnis' sister Freygerd near the west entrance to the city.
She will tell you to go and talk to King Gjuki Sorvott IV of Jatizso because he wants her to pay an emigration tax to move closer to her brother.
Note:The easiest way to reach Jatizso is via an Enchanted lyre to Rellekka and boat to Jatizso.
-
Speak to King Gjuki Sorvott IV, at the castle in the center of Jatizso, and persuade him to let Freygerd leave Jatizso without paying the tax. Return to Freygerd and tell her that Nial no longer suffers as a yeti, and you give her Nial's throwing axe as a memento.
Note: Now is a good time to bank on Jatizso. You will need Clean irit, a Vial, a Plank, 10 Earth runes, 1 Cosmic rune, the Herb pouch, Yeti hair, and teleport methods to Rellekka and Miscellania.
-
Go to Neitiznot via boat and tell Mawnis Burowgar that his sister will move there. He will come to the party now. Then, head to Miscellania and tell King Vargas that you have the Herb pouch and that you will agree to find the ghost of Asleif in the
Mountain Camp to see if she can create a potion that will turn him back into a human.
Note: The easiest way to reach Miscellania is by using the Ring of wealth(4)'s teleport option.
-
Travel back to Rellekka and go east to the Mountain Camp. Pick up the Pole in the pen next to the mountain goats.
Note: The easiest way is via fairy ring code A J R.
-
Walk north then west along the path outside the goat tent until you come to a tree. Climb up the tree and use the Pole with the clump of rocks in the water to jump onto the second island. Then use a Plank with the flat stone on one side of the rocks to cross that island.
-
Listen to the shining pool and Asleif's spirit will tell you to look in her Herb pouch.
-
In the Herb pouch, you will find a Diamond root. Asleif then instructs you to fill a Vial with the water from the spring, and add a Clean irit to it. Then grind the Diamond root with a Pestle and mortar and enchant it as if it was diamond jewelry. Add the Enchanted diamond root dust to the Mountain irit potion (unf), and then add the Yeti hair. You will now have a Yeti curse cure potion.
-
Return to Miscellania and give King Vargas the Yeti curse cure. He will turn into a human. You will also give him Asleif's Herb pouch as a memento. King Vargas will inform you that he is now happy to come to the party.
Note: The easiest way to reach Miscellania is by using the Ring of wealth(4)'s teleport option.
-
Go back to Rellekka and talk to Brundt the Chieftain about his birthday feast. He recalls that there was a mysterious mage who appears to be from the Lunar Isles on the adventure with him when he was young. Brundt agrees that the birthday party can go ahead. Talk to Manni the Reveller so that the feast can commence. He will give you your reward and a Tome of glorious deeds. A cut scene of the birthday party will now occur.
Congratulations! Quest Complete!
Additional Rewards:
Reading the Tome of glorious deeds gives the option to get 3 time 5000 XP in either
Attack, Strength, Defence, Hitpoints, or
Ranged. Go to Lunar Isle via Lokar Searunner and Captain Bentley, then talk to Baba Yaga, who can be found in the walking house north of the Lunar Isle bank. Give her the Unfinished astral rune and she will tell you of her version of events. She will also give you an Antique lamp which you can rub for 2.5k xp in any skill of your choice and a prophecy tablet.
